“Monser” is the first range of wines that brings together pure Romanian varieties. It is the most complete collection of pure Romanian varieties and includes Feteasca Neagra, Babeasca Neagra, Cadarca, Babeasca Gri, Zghihara, Feteasca Regala, Feteasca Alba, Sarba, Tamaioasa Romaneasca and Busuioaca de Bohotin.
Monser wines represent the most faithful illustration of what the true Romanian wine-viticultural tradition means.
In choosing the name of the wine range, we started from the fact that, traditionally, good wines in Romania were not made in peasant households, but in the vineyards of the old boyars. Given the fact that pure Romanian varieties are pre-phylloxeric, the name of the range, borrowed from a famous Caragiale character, was chosen to suggest the Romanian atmosphere before 1900. It is the world of Duiliu Zamfirescu and Ion Luca Caragiale, “La Belle Epoque” Romania, underlined by the motto written on the label: “Pure Romanian varieties for boyars and thin cheeks”.
The illustration of the label recreates the atmosphere of more than 100 years ago, in which the local nobles enjoyed the wine produced in their own vineyards.
The Monser range contains white and red wines, dry, semi-dry and semi-sweet, in accordance with the traditional preferences of Romanians, vinified with modern technologies, but respecting the typicality of the variety.
